About Us

Older adults and medically complex patients are disproportionately affected by mental illness. And yet, most lack access to quality and compassionate care.

That’s why Dr. Brighid Gannon founded Ivy Psychiatry.

With the demand for mental-health professionals at an all-time high in nursing homes and hospitals, Ivy Psychiatry is increasing access to care by matching facilities with highly specialized psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work in collaboration with psychiatrists.

We have found that our collaborative and specialized approach is highly effective at helping older patients reach full mental wellness, while ensuring that long-term care facilities maintain CMS compliance and deficiency-free OMH surveys.

How We Work

We know treating mental health conditions is different for seniors.

Ivy’s psychiatric providers are experts in assessing and treating mental health challenges in older adults, including depression, anxiety and dementia-related behaviors.

Working in hospitals and nursing homes that don’t have an in-house psychiatric team, Ivy does evaluations, treatment, and attentive follow ups for patients, while always maintaining CMS compliance.

To us, success looks like enhanced patient wellness, reduced hospitalizations, deficiency-free OMH surveys, and a decrease in unnecessary psychotropic medications.

Because that’s the level of attentiveness and care we think each patient deserves.

“My driving force is making a difference in the lives of long-term care patients, their families, and the communities we serve.

This means providing patients with complete and preventative psychiatric care on an ongoing basis.

We know how hard it can be for nursing home staff to balance regulatory requirements while keeping up with the increasing number of residents struggling with mental health conditions.

By working alongside in-house staff, Ivy Psychiatry is delivering consistent, high-quality care for patients and compliance support for nursing homes.”
